I have great authority in saying I was lied to or directly misled by a realtor from this group in order to make the sale seem kosher. I was told a that a thousand dollar amount offered to be paid by the sellers for flooring replacement was best handled outside of the contract and that my realtor had proof in writing via text messages from the seller and their realtor that the money would be paid, and not to worry such that a side check would be provided at closing; I was told this more than once after raising concerns about the non binding nature of keeping it out. 2 days before closing, my realtor left for vacation which is fine, but the interim realtor he left to work with was never informed and had literally no clue about a single aspect of the deal and could not answer a single question. I messaged my realtor with final questions and he supposedly never received it. When push came to shove and I needed these conversations for legal purposes after not receiving the payment, I approached my realtor during a phone call to ask for them. After verbally saying he had these texts for the third time, and telling me he wanted to work it out with their realtor first before sending them to me for legal pursuit, he told me he didn't have them a week later. Months of confirmation that they existed, and then they suddenly disappeared. Try explaining this to an attorney after wasting their time. I believe that this insinuates that the messages never existed at any point and that my realtor was hoping for good faith from the seller to cover his butt; lying to me repeatedly along the way in order to make me feel comfortable. If im wrong and this isn't the case, my realtor could not maintain realtor-realtor communication documents regarding a 6 figure real estate transaction. I'm not sure which is worse. Be weary, much better places with people who won't mislead you. I have my house and am satisfied; the money is side measure, but the unprofessional nature or apparent ineptitude of this realtor is inexcusable. Regardless, he has his commission, so I'm sure he'll be laughing to the bank! Not a good first time home buyer experience.
